Convixy started from a simple frustration — the kind most people have experienced at least once. You need to send a Word document as a PDF, or shrink a large file before uploading it somewhere, and suddenly you are being asked to install software, create an account, or pay for a subscription just to do something that should take ten seconds. We thought there had to be a better way, and so we built one.

Convixy is a free, browser-based document platform that gives you the tools to convert, compress, merge, and split files without any of the usual friction. No downloads, no sign-ups, no credit card details. You open the page, upload your file, and get your result. That is genuinely all there is to it.

How It Started

The idea behind Convixy was straightforward — build a clean, fast, honest tool that does exactly what it says and nothing more. Too many online tools are cluttered with popups, fake progress bars, forced registrations, and upsell screens before you can download your own file. We wanted to create something that felt refreshingly simple and actually respectful of the person using it. Convixy launched with a handful of conversion tools and has grown steadily based on what users actually ask for.

What Convixy Does

At its core, Convixy is a document utility platform. We currently support converting Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, CSV files, and plain text files into PDF format. We also offer PDF compression to reduce file sizes, PDF merging to combine multiple documents into one, and PDF splitting to extract individual pages from a larger file. All of these tools run entirely through your browser and are powered by processing that happens on our own server — your files are never routed through third-party services.

Who Uses Convixy

Our users come from all kinds of backgrounds. Students use Convixy to convert assignments before submitting them. Freelancers use it to send polished PDF invoices and proposals. Small business owners use it to prepare documents for clients without needing a full office software subscription. Job seekers use it to lock their resume formatting before applying. Our Approach to Privacy

We take file privacy seriously because we understand that the documents people upload are often personal or professional in nature — resumes, contracts, reports, financial spreadsheets. Your files are transmitted to our server over an encrypted TLS connection and processed automatically without any human involvement. Once your converted or compressed file is ready and downloaded, both the original and the output are permanently deleted from our server. Convixy is and will remain free to use. We believe that basic document tools should not sit behind a paywall. The platform is supported by non-intrusive advertising, which allows us to keep the lights on without charging users anything. We are committed to keeping the core tools accessible to everyone, regardless of where they are or what device they are using. The platform is fully responsive and works on Android, iPhone, tablet, and desktop without any difference in functionality.

The Technology Behind It

Convixy is built on a lean, efficient stack designed for reliability and speed. File conversions are handled by LibreOffice, a trusted open-source document processing engine used by millions of people and organisations around the world. It runs directly on our own server infrastructure, which means your files never leave our environment during processing. We chose open-source technology deliberately — it is transparent, well-maintained, and does not tie us or our users to proprietary systems.

What We Are Working On

We are continuously improving Convixy based on feedback from our users. Features and tools that appear on the platform today are largely the result of people writing in to suggest them. We are currently working on expanding our tool set and improving conversion quality for complex file types.
